Air drop from the DC-3

Nate and Paul, AIM AIR mechanics in partnership with Samaritan's Purse, man the "wheelbarrow," as supplies slide off, drop hundreds of feet, and smack into the drop zone for relief workers on the ground to distribute.

A few weeks ago, some ‘scouts’ from Samaritan’s Purse found pockets of refugees fleeing the fighting in the Nuba Mountains, who had made it into Southern Sudan. Between 5,000 – 10,000 people, on the run from their own government were living in the bush (actually the swamp) with only what they managed to carry with them.

Samaritan’s Purse asked us to mobilize our fleet and provide airdrops of relief food into the area where these people have congregated. We began doing so hours after their request and have been doing so up to this point.

The AIM AIR team has been working out the logistics, as well as maintaining and launching the aircraft that are bring these life-saving supplies. Our pilots are working long days, not only flying, but loading supplies. Some of our friends are bouncing around Sudan in the back of the DC-3, choking back airsickness, throwing (literally) tons of relief food out the back of our DC-3.

Please keep these Sudanese on the run in your prayers. There are several sections of the country where the government of Sudan is targeting its own people for extermination.

Please also keep praying for the AIM AIR team as we seek to meet these needs and show the love of Jesus Christ to those we work with and serve.
