Slick & Donna Douglass

Hometown: Los Angeles, CA (Slick), Wyckoff, NJ (Donna)

Position: Pilot

With AIM AIR since: 2010

Bio: Slick retired from the Air Force in April 2010 after being an F-16 pilot for 20 years. He finished his Masters in Biblical Exposition (teaching and preaching the Bible) from Columbia International University seminary later that year.

Having long dreamed of using aviation to aid mission organizations, he brushed up his civilian flying skills flying all over the US in an RV-6 (homebuilt 2-seater – no, we didn’t build it!). Having spent a year of French school in preparation to fly in central Africa, we hope to transition to the Entebbe, Uganda program reaching deep into Africa’s Central region. Slick is married to Donna (fellow USAF fighter pilot) who is full time mothering their 2 year old and expecting #2 in Apr 2012. Chili their dog came along for the ride and passes her days romping around the Muringa Compound in search of anyone who will scratch her ears.

Favorite past time: Snowboarding and reading

Did you Know?
The only time Slick beat Donna in a triathlon was when she was 5 months pregnant with their first child, Zoe.
Slick and Donna met in Korea where Slick chased Donna around the traffic pattern until they both had to land.
Donna’s tales of racing triathlons, combat flying and other things have been published in various forums.
